Me: I’m so awesome at math!
Me: What’s the chance a randomly selected integer is a multiple of 3?
Is it actually though?
Infinity does weird thing to statistics. The set of integers that are a multiple of 3 is the same size as the set of integers that are not a multiple of three. Unless you limit yourself to a subset of all integers, you cannot pick randomly*
And if you pick a sub set of all integers, the answer depends on which subset you pick.
*There is a contradiction, viz: There is a 50% chance that it is a multiple of 3, a 50% chance that it is also a multiple of 4 (so 25% that it is both) and a 50% chance that it is a multiple of 12, but 50% != 25% so…
