One of the more annoying Low rhetorical moves:
“What you’re suggesting has Negative Consequence. If that doesn’t make you back down, then you want Negative Consequence and are an evil Negative Consequence Supporter.”

I’ve done this, although I started by saying “considers X an acceptable trade-off for remarkably little gain” and then sort of switched to “supports X”. Sorry.

That’s how I usually do it too. It doesn’t work at all but it is blessedly cathartic.
