The Kavanaugh testimony reminds me of something I’d wondered about: if you were designed a schooling curriculum, would it be desirable to have acting be a required subject? Not everybody would be good at it, but enough people might be for everybody to personally know a few people who can convincingly fake any kind of emotional display. (I mean, everybody does already, but they would KNOW its fake.) Then, they would know, at a more gut level, to ignore displays of emotion as conveying any meaning, thus leveling the field against people who are naturally good actors.

If you have to judge classes by whether everybody will be good at them, there’s some cruft that needs to be gotten rid of already.
