i’m still baffled by game reviews like “barely functional, delivers nothing of what it promised. best moment in this game, which took hours and hours of buildup and work to get to, was ruined by incredibly dysfunctional programming.

6/10.”

I’m never going into game reviewing, but I’ve been considering that if I did, I would rate with stars. How many stars? Who knows! But I’d award stars individually – zero, ½ or 1 star for graphics (technical); 0, ½ or 1 star for graphics (aesthetics), for music, for sound design, gameplay, mechanics etc./ and then just add them all up and that’s how many stars you get.

Edit: And obviously separate scores for Single- Coop- and Multi-player game modes.
